IndiGo on Thursday said it will temporarily halt services to six overseas destinations from July as it recalibrates capacity in response to weakening demand and elevated operating costs, despite the ongoing summer vacation rush.
Services to Langkawi (Malaysia), Krabi (Thailand), Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam), Hong Kong and Shanghai will be suspended from July 1, while flights to Siem Reap (Cambodia) will be paused from July 3. The suspension will remain in place until September 30. The affected routes are popular among Indian travellers and provide direct connectivity to key leisure and business destinations across Southeast Asia and China.

IndiGo said bookings on all six routes will reopen from October 1, though services could resume earlier if demand improves. The airline described the move as a limited adjustment to its international network during a traditionally softer travel quarter and amid a challenging cost environment.
Despite the temporary cuts, the airline said it will continue operating more than 1,800 international flights every week and retain the vast majority of its overseas network.
It also said it would continue to monitor market conditions, elevated operating costs and ongoing airspace restrictions before taking further decisions on its international operations. Affected passengers will be informed proactively and offered available options.
The move came two days after the airline announced it will suspend flights to Manchester from August 31, citing prolonged international airspace restrictions in the wake of the Iran war and rising operating costs that have made the route commercially challenging.
The airline said the continued closure of certain international air corridors has significantly increased flight times and operational expenses, affecting the viability of long-haul services.
IndiGo currently operates flights to Manchester from Delhi and Mumbai. The UK route was launched in July last year as part of the airline’s long-haul international expansion plans.
