A 17-year-old girl, the daughter of an IPS officer, allegedly died by suicide at her residence in Bhopal’s Four Imli area, triggering shock in the locality. The Class 11 student, who had recently been promoted to Class 12, was living with her family at the time of the incident.
According to police, the minor allegedly hanged herself in her room while family members were present at home. After being informed, police reached the spot, took custody of the body, and sent it for post-mortem examination.

Habibganj police station in-charge Sanjeev Chouksey said no suicide note has been recovered so far. Police are investigating the case from all possible angles and are also examining the student’s mobile phone and contacts.
A case has been registered, and the family members are being questioned. Officials said the exact circumstances surrounding the incident will become clearer after the post-mortem report is received.
