Steffie Waters, the reported ex-fiancée of Sydney Swans star Isaac Heeney, has resurfaced on social media after weeks of silence following reports of the couple’s split.

And while Heeney remains in Sydney, Waters appears to be putting some distance between herself and the drama, enjoying a girls’ getaway in the United States.

Waters returned to Instagram on Thursday, giving followers a glimpse of her adventures in Texas.

Heeney, meanwhile, appears to be staying closer to home, with the Daily Mail publishing new photos of the shirtless AFL star in Sydney.

Waters’ posts come weeks after reports emerged that she had ended her long-term relationship with Heeney following a scandal involving several Sydney Swans players.

Her latest Instagram stories reveal she’s on an overseas getaway with at least one friend, including a photo of herself kneeling in a prayer pose outside a Baptist church.

Waters joked that she was praying for the return of her luggage, which had gone missing during her flight.

Another image showed her visiting a boutique boot store, while friend Miranda Rack appeared to share a photo of the pair at Daddy’s Home vintage clothing store in Austin, Texas.

But it’s not just her holiday snaps that have caught attention, with Waters also quietly changing the appearance of her Instagram profile to seemingly look single.

Waters has removed several prominent photos of the couple from her Instagram grid, including images from their romantic engagement in French Polynesia.

Heeney is now largely not visible from the main grid, although photos of the pair can still be found tucked away within older carousel posts.

Instagram’s updated editing feature allows users to rearrange the order of photos within a carousel, meaning they can change which image appears on their profile grid without deleting the entire post. However the engagement post was completely deleted or archived.

Waters has also been seen without her engagement ring.

Heeney has since deleted his Instagram account and has reportedly been attempting to reconcile with Waters for several weeks.

Neither has publicly confirmed the status of their relationship.

The reported breakdown comes after Heeney and four Swans teammates were suspended for the remainder of the 2026 AFL season following an incident during a night out on August 17.

Heeney, Chad Warner, Nick Blakey, James Jordon and Riley Bice were sanctioned after the club found they had breached behavioural standards by staying out late, consuming alcohol and bringing women back to the team’s hotel rooms.

Four players remain the subject of an ongoing police investigation, while Bice has been cleared of any criminal wrongdoing.

No charges have been laid in connection with the incident.

This masthead is not suggesting the players are guilty of any wrongdoing, just that they are assisting police with enquiries.

It comes as Heeney was awarded his third Bob Skilton Medal at the Sydney Swans’ best and fairest awards last Thursday night, despite being absent from the ceremony.

In a pre-recorded video played to the 500 guests, Heeney apologised to his teammates and club staff over the controversy.

“When I was told about this honour, it was the first time I’ve smiled and felt positive about the future for a long time,” he said.

“Every single day I was away from the club was heartbreaking … I want my actions moving forward to show how much this place and its people mean to me.”

Heeney also said he “can’t wait” to return to training with his teammates ahead of the 2027 AFL season.
