The interaction came against the backdrop of recent on-field tensions involving India and Pakistan cricketers. Meetings between the two sides have drawn increased attention in recent months amid the political situation between the neighbouring countries, with player interactions closely watched by fans. Against that backdrop, Rodrigues’ exchange with Sana became one of the major talking points after the contest.

Rodrigues made another valuable contribution with the bat, scoring an unbeaten 28 off 18 balls after Maia Bouchier (45) and Lizelle Lee (43) had laid the foundation for Southern Brave’s total. The India batter provided late acceleration to help her side post a competitive score and later chipped in with a catch as Brave registered their second win of the season.
It was a difficult outing, however, for Fatima on her Women’s Hundred debut. The Pakistan captain finished without a wicket after conceding 33 runs from her 15-ball spell, with Southern Brave’s batters capitalising on her overs in the closing stages of the innings. She later remained unbeaten on 5 during Birmingham Phoenix’s chase, but her side ultimately fell short of the target.
Rodrigues has enjoyed an encouraging start since joining Southern Brave for the 2026 edition of The Hundred. The India batter had earlier produced a Player of the Match performance in Brave’s one-run victory over MI London and has continued to make important contributions in the middle order.
In four matches this season, Rodrigues has scored 106 runs at an average of 53 and a strike-rate of 134.17. The 25-year-old has once again underlined her value in the competition after an impressive stint with Northern Superchargers during the inaugural 2021 season, when she finished among the team’s leading run-scorers.
