Rock legend Jimmy Barnes will lead an All-Aussie line-up in Perth later this year at a summer festival held at King’s Park.
On December 4, everybody’s favourite working-class man will be joined by Jon Stevens, formerly of INXS and The Noiseworks, as well as WA’s own Eskimo Joe, and singer-songwriter Sarah McLeod, in an outdoor rock extravaganza.
Barnes, 70, is a pioneer of pub rock Down Under in a career spanning more than 40 years.
He led Cold Chisel through the 70s and 80s, performing hit songs Khe Sanh and Cheap Wine, and became one of the country’s most iconic live performers.
Continuing his rise, “Barnesy” has since enjoyed a successful career as a solo artist, penning resonant anthem Working Class Man, and has sold more records collectively in Australia than any other local musician.
Proving his insatiable desire to perform, Barnes has overcome numerous health battles to return to the stage in recent years including a battle with pneumonia in late 2023 which forced him to undergo open-heart surgery.
His last Perth appearance was in June 2025 for his Defiant tour.
Joining the two-time ARIA Hall of Famer will be Stevens, who fronted world-conquering band INXS between 2000-2003 following the death of Michael Hutchence.
He is set to bring his rock pedigree to the local stage in a throwback to the 80s and 90s with music that soundtracked the lives of many West Aussies.
Another band with much to celebrate is local products Eskimo Joe, who are currently touring the country for the 20th anniversary of their Black Fingernails Red Wine album.
The trio remain a force of Aussie rock and are closing in on one million total records sold.
As a founding member of three-time ARIA award winning band The Superjesus., South Australia’s Sarah McCleod rounds out the bill, bringing both solo and group experience to the stage in her 20-plus years performing.
She has partnered with Mick Skelton, a drummer and collaborator who has worked with many big-name local and global acts.
The pair will perform as a powerful rock duo.
The festival at King’s Park and Botanic Garden will take place on December 4, with general sale tickets available on September 9.
