Investors who secure an allotment in the Jio Platforms IPO could make a listing gain of nearly Rs 3,000 on a single lot if the shares list at the price indicated by the latest grey market premium (GMP).

The GMP stood at Rs 247 on October 26, according to the latest data provided. With the IPO‘s upper price band at Rs 1,119 per share, this points to an estimated listing price of Rs 1,366, implying a potential gain of around 22.07%.

The Jio Platforms IPO was subscribed 21.36 times by the close of bidding on October 23, reflecting strong demand across investor categories. The allotment is expected to be finalised on October 26, while the shares are scheduled to list on the BSE and NSE on October 28.

But how much could an investor make if they receive one lot, two lots, three lots or more? Here is a breakdown based on the latest GMP.

JIO PLATFORMS IPO: POTENTIAL PROFIT FROM 1, 2, 3, 5 OR 10 LOTS

At the upper price band of Rs 1,119 per share, an investor would pay Rs 1,119 for each share allotted. Based on the latest GMP of Rs 247, the estimated listing price is Rs 1,366 per share, which translates into a potential profit of Rs 247 per share.

Since one lot consists of 12 shares, an investor who receives one lot would have invested Rs 13,428. If the stock lists at Rs 1,366, the value of those shares would rise to Rs 16,392, resulting in an estimated profit of Rs 2,964.

Similarly, an investor allotted two lots, or 24 shares, would invest Rs 26,856 and could make a profit of Rs 5,928, taking the estimated value of the shares to Rs 32,784. For three lots, comprising 36 shares, the investment would be Rs 40,284 and the potential profit would be Rs 8,892, with the shares valued at Rs 49,176.

An investor who receives five lots, or 60 shares, would invest Rs 67,140. At the estimated listing price, these shares would be worth Rs 81,960, translating into a potential gain of Rs 14,820. For 10 lots, or 120 shares, the investment would be Rs 1,34,280, while the estimated value at listing would be Rs 1,63,920, resulting in a potential profit of Rs 29,640.

These calculations are based on the latest GMP of Rs 247 and an estimated listing price of Rs 1,366. The GMP is unofficial and can change before listing, so the actual profit or loss may differ. The figures also exclude brokerage, taxes and other applicable charges.

WHAT DOES THE LATEST JIO IPO GMP INDICATE?

The Jio Platforms IPO’s latest GMP of Rs 247 suggests that shares could list at around Rs 1,366, compared with the upper issue price of Rs 1,119. This represents an implied premium of approximately 22.07%.

The grey market premium reflects unofficial trading interest before a stock’s market debut. It can rise or fall before listing and is not a reliable guarantee of the final listing price.

If the shares list at a lower premium than the current GMP suggests, the potential profit would be smaller. If they list at a higher price, the gain could be larger. The actual return will depend on the market price when trading begins.

WHEN WILL JIO PLATFORMS IPO SHARES LIST?

The allotment for the Jio Platforms IPO is expected to be finalised on October 26, 2026, with the listing scheduled for October 28 on the BSE and NSE.

Investors can check their allotment status through KFin Technologies, the issue registrar, and the relevant allotment-status facilities on the BSE and NSE websites.

The IPO was open for subscription from October 21 to October 23. The Rs 30,213-crore issue received an overall subscription of 21.36 times, with the QIB category, excluding anchor investors, subscribed 67.15 times, the NII category 13.99 times and the retail portion 2.76 times.

Investors should remember that receiving an allotment and making a listing gain are two different things. The allotment determines whether shares are allocated to an applicant, while the actual profit or loss depends on the price at which the stock lists and the price at which the investor eventually sells.
