Jorge had been receiving treatment at a health facility in Rosario, Argentina, when he last gave birth on Friday nights, August 7, at his last moment. Although the home had chosen to keep his medical history secret, his wellness had been a source of concern for some time.

During the late concluded FIFA World Cup, health issues grew even more. The Messi family issued a statement confirming Jorge was receiving medical care for an unidentified illness in June as soon as fake reports began to surface online about his death.
The family at the time claimed that he was being watched medically and that he was being treated for protection and awareness.
The 68-year-old has presently passed away in Rosario, where he resides.
