Kelley Wolf has issued a heartfelt apology, one year after she finally got help for her mental health crisis.

The 49-year-old author and life coach – who is married to Party of Five star Scott Wolf – took to Instagram with a carousel of 11 images containing her apology statement to her family, friends and community.

She captioned the post: “Sometimes words fall short… but love never does. Thank you for all the love, grace, and encouragement you have shown me and our family. My gratitude is immeasurable.”

And Scott – who has three children with Kelley – responded with a series of heart emojis.

Kelley wrote: “Wow…I have taken about 100 deep breaths to write this. How do I even start? It’s been a year since I recognized what everyone around me could see: I was not well, and I needed help.

“… I had no awareness of my actions. I was completely delusional and it was hitting critical mass. After a year of working with incredible doctors, therapists, psychologists and healers, I have an answer.

“… What I experienced was diagnosed as breakthrough drug-induced mania with psychosis – which means it had never happened before, and I pray never again – caused by stress, past trauma, hormonal shifts, and hallucinogens mixed with prescribed medications. A perfect storm.”

Kelley went on to issue an apology to Scott.

She said: “I am so sorry. My husband of twenty years was taken through a nightmare that wouldn’t even fly in a movie script, it was so brutal.

“The things I did, said, wrote and posted caused profound harm and were not based in truth of reality.

“And they caused pain I could never imagine to the people I love the most.

“My brain turned on me. In my illness, I made accusations and did things that make me shudder. I have spent my life believing in love, hope, kindness and compassion. What I became was the opposite. Cruel. Vicious. Mean.”

“…In mania and psychosis, people can attack the ones they love the most and believe grand and delusional ideas… But no matter how much science can explain, I will hold the truth that I said and did things that caused enormous pain. For that reason, I will never be the same.

“… Scott and my kids there won’t be a day that I don’t thank God for you. Causing you pain and being the reason you suffered will haunt me for the rest of my life. I am sorry. You never gave up on me… I owe you my life.”

Scott filed for divorce from Kelley Wolf last year, and just a few days later she was placed on an involuntary “5150” psychiatric hold at a Utah hospital due to a friend’s concern for her mental health.

However, back in February the pair were seen enjoying time with their kids Jackson, 16, Miller, 13, and 11-year-old Lucy at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

Scott told PEOPLE: “While I would never have wanted anything to have been made public, I guess it just felt like our family deserved to have things not just sit in some kind of awful dark place in terms of perception.

“While the work we’re all doing is really the only thing that really matters, it had been made public. While it’s impossible to go into any real detail about much of any of it, I love all of those four people and all of those four people love each other. And so that’s really what matters most.”
