King Charles has reportedly offered Prince Harry and his family the use of a royal residence and security arrangements during their upcoming visit to Britain.

The monarch, 77, who is still receiving cancer treatment, is said to have extended the offer to his son, 41, as well as his wife Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, 44, and their children Archie, seven, and Lilibet, five, as thy are expected to be in London and Birmingham between 6 and 10 July for a series of engagements connected to Harry’s charitable work, including an event marking one year until the Invictus Games 2027.

If they join the visit, it would be Harry and Meghan’s children’s first visit to Britain in four years.

The trip follows Harry’s long-running dispute over security arrangements in the UK after he lost a High Court challenge concerning taxpayer-funded police protection.

The issue has remained at the centre of discussions about Harry’s relationship with Britain since he stepped back from royal duties and relocated to California with Meghan in 2020.

A source told The Sun, which reported on Friday (19.06.26) Charles had made the summer accommodation offer: “(Harry) obviously saw his father in September, they speak regularly and there is a hope they will both be able to find time in their schedules to catch up when Harry is in the UK.”

The reported visit comes amid continued scrutiny of relations between Harry and the Royal Family.

Earlier this year, Harry spoke publicly about wanting reconciliation following the conclusion of his legal battle over security arrangements.

The Duke of Sussex has previously said it was “impossible” to bring his family to the UK without what he considered adequate protection.

According to reports, new arrangements have now created conditions for what sources close to Harry describe as “a safe return”.

The duke is also understood to have scheduled “pockets of downtime” during the five-day visit in the hope of seeing Charles.

Charles, 77, is believed to be maintaining a normal programme of engagements while Harry is in Britain.

The King last met Archie and Lilibet during celebrations connected to Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022.

He is also understood to have met Lilibet during that visit, with reports at the time describing the occasion as “very emotional”.

Meghan has not returned to Britain since Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022.

The Duchess of Sussex is not expected to undertake separate public engagements during the trip but is expected to accompany Harry in support of his Invictus commitments.

The visit will culminate in a celebration marking one year until the Invictus Games in Birmingham.

Harry founded the sporting event for wounded, injured and sick military personnel and veterans in 2014, and it remains one of the projects most closely associated with his public life.

Meghan has previously attended one-year countdown events for the Games in Düsseldorf and Vancouver.

At present, Harry is required to give 30 days’ notice before travelling to Britain so the Royal and VIP Executive Committee can determine the appropriate level of security.

The committee includes representatives from the Royal Household, the Metropolitan Police, the Home Office, the Cabinet Office and the Foreign Office.

He last saw his father during a 55-minute meeting last year – their first in nearly two years – but Harry’s estrangement rom his brother Prince William, 43, and other senior royals continues after moves such as the publication of his memoir Spare and his and Meghan’s interview with Oprah Winfrey after they stepped away from royal duties in what became known as ‘Megxit’ drove a wedge between him and his family and the royals.
