On the occasion of Nagarjuna’s 67th birthday, the makers of his landmark 100th film finally unveiled its title, release date and a power-packed first glimpse. Titled King100, the film sets the stage for a major theatrical face-off with Shah Rukh Khan’s King, as both movies are slated to release on the same day.
Annapurna Studios announced that Nagarjuna’s King100 will release on December 24. The first glimpse, which runs for over a minute and a half, introduces the veteran actor in a stylish, larger-than-life avatar and offers a peek into a compelling rags-to-riches story.

The video opens with Nagarjuna’s character sharing his thoughts on money, power and identity, hinting at a journey that takes him from having nothing to becoming one of the most powerful men in the room. His monologue sets the tone for a story about ambition, success and the price of maintaining one’s identity.
“There are two types of people in this world. Those who have money and those who don’t. When I had no money, they called me a loser. When I had money, they called me a King. But this identity is more powerful than money. To uphold this identity, I have to keep running,” he says.
As the monologue plays out, the visuals trace his apparent transformation from a man with little to a powerful business tycoon who eventually earns the title of ‘King’. The glimpse keeps the larger story under wraps while building intrigue around his character and the world he inhabits.
The video concludes with the official title reveal, followed by the powerful message, “Long Live The King.” The announcement thus doubles up as a birthday treat for Nagarjuna’s fans and a first look at his landmark 100th film.
King100 also marks the much-awaited on-screen reunion of Nagarjuna and Tabu after 28 years. The two first shared screen space in the 1996 Telugu film Ninne Pelladatha. They went on to collaborate on Aavida Maa Aavide (1998) and Sisindri (1999).
Written and directed by RA Karthik, King100 is produced by Annapurna Studios. Raja Mahadhevan has handled the cinematography, Sathees Kumar N is the production designer, and Navin Nooli serves as the editor.
With King100 arriving in December alongside Shah Rukh Khan’s next, the stage is set for an exciting box-office showdown between two celebrated stars.
