The first episode of Kyle Sandilands’ new live, subscriber-only radio show has been derailed by tech chaos.
The Kyle Sandilands Live show, which premiered on Monday for $99 a month, got off to a clunky start as the controversial shock jock struggled to work his microphone and shouted down his employees.
“When I ask a question, am I supposed to hear her answer? Why do you not understand how to use the microphone?” he asked.
The cameras were shaky and the microphones were fading in and out as the former KIIS radio host and his team struggled behind the scenes.
“Remember last week, when you guys were in here 24/7, testing everything? Did anyone test anything that seems to be failing today?” he asked his team.
From the background, one employee could be heard saying Kyle “doesn’t look happy”.
Shortly after 7am, the audio was cut for several minutes, plunging the entire studio in silence, with the screens frozen as the team scrambled to get the show back on air.
Amid a mixed bag of guests, including a psychic medium and a fan who managed to sign up for this who before the website launched, NSW Premier Chris Minns managed to pull the podcast back on track.
Mr Minns and Sandilands discussed running into each other at the Blue Mountains, where Sandilands said he mistook Mr Minns for a “meth head”.
Armed with a pair of large gold scissors, Mr Minns cut the tape at the front of the studio to launch the show, but as the tech issues continued, the cameras failed to capture the moment.
