Keira Knightley inspired Lili Reinhart to become an actress.
The 30-year-old film star was obsessed with Keira, 41, as a child, and the brunette beauty influenced Lili’s decision to pursue a career in acting.
Speaking about her inspirations, Lili told Interview magazine: “Pride and Prejudice, and Atonement, and every Keira Knightley movie.
“Everything that she did, I was watching when I was 11, 12, and falling in love with the idea of being an actor and being in something like that. It’ll happen eventually. Hopefully.”
Lili has returned to the romcom genre to star in The Love Hypothesis, the new film adaptation of Ali Hazelwood’s 2021 novel, and the actress explained why she decided to board the movie.
She said: “Ali Hazelwood has written multiple books about women in STEM. And that’s also really cool because, these rom-coms that were being sent to me in the past, the women in them all are always doing the same thing, and I’m like, ‘Enough. Women can do more than these three things.'”
Lili is now keen to shoot more romcoms in the coming years.
She shared: “I enjoy a Mr. Darcy yearning man and a slow burn between the two. I like to have the satisfaction of a slow build and that romantic tension, which is why I now have such an interest in doing more romance after shooting this movie.”
Lili read The Love Hypothesis for the first time when she was at the Venice Film Festival, and she recently recalled being blown away by the story.
The movie star told The Hollywood Reporter: “I loved Ali’s book.
“I was in Venice for the film festival, and so I had this very beautiful romantic backdrop while I was reading. I don’t read romance books, but I really enjoyed it and surprised myself.”
Lili had previously been reluctant to shoot another romcom, but she relished filming The Love Hypothesis.
The actress explained: “I hadn’t done a rom-com for a few years, but I had the best time ever shooting Look Both Ways in 2021, and it felt like I was ready to embark on doing that again. And because I loved the book, I loved the character dynamic, the slow burn of it all; I was convinced to do it.”
