Long-running radio duo Will & Woody have been axed after eight years at KIIS FM.
ARN released a statement on Wednesday announcing the pair would be departing the network at the end of 2026, with Melbourne-based drive hosts Will McMahon and Woody Whitelaw said to be “devastated” by the decision.
“Will & Woody have been an important part of the KIIS family for the past eight years and have made a huge contribution to the network,” Kerri Elstub, ARN’s Chief Content Officer, said.
“We wish Will & Woody all the very best for the future and look forward to seeing what they do next. In the meantime, they still have plenty of great radio ahead of them before the end of the year, and we look forward to celebrating their contribution and giving them the send-off they deserve.”
Grateful for the opportunity to fulfil their dream of hosting KIIS FM’s national drive show, the pair said they would miss the relationship they had developed with listeners.
“We are devastated we won’t be continuing to do what we truly love next year and will sorely miss hearing the stories of everyone who contributed to the show,” they said.
“It was always the listeners who made the show, so we are deeply thankful to you all. We are also incredibly grateful to ARN for allowing us to live out our dream for the last 8 years . . .”
The radio larrikins joked they would finally need to learn “how to make LinkedIn profiles”.
Now considered journeymen of Australia’s broadcasting scene, Will & Woody began their friendship as students at Scotch College in Melbourne before entering broadcasting in 2012.
They were heard nationally on 2Day FM weekend breakfast, as well as performing fill-in roles across the Hit Network.
The pair moved to Perth at the beginning of 2014, where they served as 92.9 breakfast radio hosts for four years alongside Heidi Anderson.
In 2018, Will & Woody returned to Melbourne where they were welcomed in by KIIS FM to host their own drive show.
Along their journey, the comedic-minded pair have also performed sell out shows at Perth Fringe and the Melbourne Comedy Festival.
