A young man has died nearly a week after he was seriously injured when a wild “all-out brawl” broke out in a suburban street after a house party was gatecrashed.
Queensland Police say a 21-year-old man from Redbank Plains died in hospital on Saturday from serious wounds he received in the incident last Sunday, July 26.
The man was found by police called to the disturbance at a short-term rental house on Orchard Ave in the Logan suburb of Bahrs Scrub.
He had significant head injuries after he was allegedly bashed in the fight that spilled onto the street.
By the time officers arrived, the aftermath of the disturbance stretched across the street.
Police said they found “significant damage” throughout the street, including to several cars and a home.
The young man was taken to the Princess Alexandra Hospital in Brisbane where he died on Saturday.
Residents reported seeing disorder spill through the estate, with some saying they believed two groups had been involved.
Neighbours also described hooning before people fled the area on foot and in damaged vehicles.

Footage from CCTV appears to show a man running away from the scene down the street at about 2.47am.
Logan Crime Group Detective Inspector Ian Galpin last week said an “all-out brawl” broke out between two rival groups – aged between 18 and 21 years old – after one crashed a party.
“This was a targeted attack and there is no ongoing threat to the wider community,” Inspector Galpin said.
“It appears to be a short-term accommodation rental property where some sort of party was occurring, and then at some stage in the night a second group arrived.
“Our inquiries suggest the second group was known to the occupants of the rental, and a conflict has begun, which kicked off quite a violent disturbance.”
Several vehicles were left with smashed windows and dents, while a nearby home also suffered shattered windows.
Police have said investigations remain ongoing and are urging anyone with information to come forward and assist with their investigation.
