A 64-year-old man in Delhi allegedly struck his son with a rock and then strangled him with a makeshift rope with the help of his accomplice. The victim, 38-year-old Gul Hasan who suffered from schizophrenia, was found in an abandoned container 500 metres east of the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway.
The accused have been identified as Talukdar Ansari, the victim’s father, and 49-year-old Mohammad Wasim alias Akram.

According to police, Hasan was allegedly taken to the place where the isolated container was placed on the pretext of being taken to a doctor. He was first hit on the head with a stone and was later strangled with a rope made from discarded pieces of cloth.
The case came to light on August 23 when police received information about a body lying inside an abandoned container located adjacent to an NTPC wall close to the expressway. The container was known locally as ‘Bablu’s container’.
Upon arrival on the spot, a police team found the body with injury marks on the head. The bloodstained rock and rope have also been recovered.
The police formed four teams to investigate the murder and examined CCTV footage that has surfaced from the area and nearby locations to trace the victim’s movements.
According to investigators, the clip showed Hasan walking towards the container with two other men. He did not appear to return from the location, prompting police to focus their investigation on the two men accompanying him.
During the investigation, police traced the two men to a tailoring factory in Govindpuri, where Ansari and Wasim were arrested.
