A man was allegedly caught exposing himself in public by police who came to arrest him over allegations he tried to groom a child online.
NSW Police said its sex crimes squad received a report earlier in October about the online activities of a 46-year-old man in Sydney’s northwest.
After starting an investigation, officers went to arrest Kerim Tokcan at his workplace on Monday morning, where he was allegedly found in his car engaging in a sexual act.
Police then searched his home in Rouse Hill and seized a number of electronic devices.
He was taken to Windsor Police Station where he was charged with using a carriage service to groom a child under the age of 16, possessing child abuse material, and soliciting child abuse material.
Tokcan was also charged with wilful and obscene exposure in or near a public place.
He fronted Penrith Local Court on Monday where he did not apply for bail, so was formally refused.
His case will return to the same court in January.
