A man has been charged after allegedly being found lurking outside former nightclub mogul John Ibrahim’s eastern Sydney home with a firebomb, knives and “intent” to harm.

South Australian man Troy William Buck, also known as Troy Adam, was allegedly spotted acting erratically in a clifftop reserve near Ibrahim’s home in Dover Heights on 24 May, sources close to the case told the Herald.

A resident called police, who allegedly found Buck with knives and a Molotov cocktail in his possession.

Police spoke with Buck, who they believe to be homeless, and allege the 45-year-old had intent to harm Ibrahim.

Buck was taken into police custody and charged with possessing knives, explosives and housebreaking implements in public.

He was also charged with being armed with intent to assault Ibrahim.

Buck has been refused bail and is expected to face Waverley Local Court on Wednesday morning.

Seperately, two men are currently preparing for trial after allegedly targeting Ibrahim for assassination in July 2024.

The pair allegedly stopped traffic in Dover Heights during the school rush hour brandishing a pistol and confronting a driver.

They allegedly fled in their stolen SUV before being arrested by police and charged with conspiracy to murder.

They will face trial in August.

Ibrahim has had other disturbed visitors at his home in the past, including Butch Haouchar in early 2019.

“I want my f—in’ money, yeah!” said Haouchar, as he pressed the doorbell at Mr Ibrahim’s house.

“John, Habib, it’s me Butch,” said Mr Haouchar, who then walked away screaming manically. Mr Haouchar posted his video on social media shortly before his arrest. His case was dismissed on mental health grounds.

There is no suggestion of wrongdoing on behalf of Ibrahim.
