Following inquiries, police executed a search warrant at a unit on Doomben Ave with assistance from the North and South West Metropolitan Operations Support Group and the Dog Unit.

A hammer was allegedly found near the property and seized by investigators.

Police arrested the 36-year-old man inside the unit.

Officers allege the man assaulted police during the arrest before a Taser was deployed.

He was taken to Gladesville Police Station and charged with causing wounding or grievous bodily harm with intent to murder, assaulting a police officer in the execution of duty without causing actual bodily harm, and destroying or damaging property valued at less than $2000.

The man was refused bail and briefly fronted Burwood Local Court on Thursday.
