A missing-person investigation in Delhi’s Lajpat Nagar has turned into a murder case, with police arresting two suspects after tracing the trail to Uttarakhand and identifying the victim’s body recovered near Gurugram.
Yuvraj Singh Manchanda, 31, was reported missing on September 11 after his sister told police that he had left a restaurant in Lajpat Nagar on September 6. He had reportedly informed his family that he was going to Gurugram for a meeting.

During the investigation, police from Lajpat Nagar used technical analysis, CCTV footage and local enquiries to track Yuvraj’s movements.
Their investigation reportedly led them to his former colleague Anya Vats. A new mobile number and other leads helped investigators trace Vats’s movements to Uttarakhand.
Police subsequently detained Vats and her associate, Sanyam Sachdeva. During questioning, the two allegedly confessed to killing Yuvraj and disposing of his body in a drain near their residence in Gurugram.
Gurugram police had recovered a body from a drain on September 10. Yuvraj’s family later identified it, confirming he was indeed dead and not missing.
Both suspects have been arrested, while further forensic and technical investigation is underway. Police have secured remand to trace additional evidence and witnesses and establish the precise sequence of events.
