A man has been shot dead in Sydney’s west in what police believe to be a targeted attack, the second in as many days.
Emergency services responded to the incident on Bruce Street, Merrylands West, following the shooting about 3.15pm on Wednesday.
A man believed to be in his 30s was found with a gunshot wound but died at the scene despite treatment from paramedics, NSW Police said in a statement.
He is yet to be formally identified, and the incident is believed to be related to organised crime.
A crime scene has been established as police investigate the shooting with assistance from homicide detectives.
Vision of the scene posted online by SCN WorldStar showed emergency services outside a home near the corner of Bruce Street and Duffy Street.
Children’s bikes, play equipment and toys were visible at the front and rear of one home cordoned off by police tape.
