Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have filed for divorce.
The pair went their separate ways in July after almost three years of marriage, and a source has now told People that divorce proceedings were initiated on Friday (30.10.26).
The insider explained that Margaret and Jack “are filing for divorce jointly”.
They explained that while New York State requires one party to be a plaintiff and the other to be the defendant, actress Margaret, 32, and 42-year-old singer-songwriter Jack’s separation is amicable and mutually agreed, adding: “This is a mutual decision.”
The source went on: “They share a deep affinity and love for one another, and though their romantic partnership is ending, they will absolutely be lifelong friends.”
In July, questions were raised about their relationship after the Bleachers musician was accompanied to pop megastar Taylor Swift, 36, and 37-year-old Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce’s wedding by his sister Rachel, rather than his wife.
And it was reported a few days later that they had gone their separate ways.
A spokesperson for the Substance star subsequently spoke out to address some of the claims surrounding their split, insisting Margaret and Jack have nothing but “deep love and care” for one another.
The representative said: “The narratives running in the press about Margaret and Jack are categorically untrue. There are no trust issues. There was no infidelity or anything outside of respect and partnership in this relationship.
“They have deep love and care for one another. There are only two people in this marriage, and the sources who are talking to the press and commenting on their relationship are not people who know them. Please respect their privacy.”
The spokesperson’s comments confirmed an insider’s previous claim that the former couple were determined to navigate their break-up with “kindness and unity”.
A source told People magazine: “They love each other deeply and are very sweet to each other. They are going through this process with nothing but kindness and unity.
“The rumours swirling around out there about them just aren’t true.”
Jack previously admitted he knew the “second” he met Margaret at a rooftop party in 2021 that he wanted to make her his wife, which he did in August 2023.
Speaking on The Howard Stern Show, he said: “I saw her and it was like a f****** Hallmark movie that doesn’t seem believable.
“When I met her, I started imagining things that I’d never even imagined, like marriage.”
Jack knew Margaret’s feelings were mutual because of her long-held crush on 60-year-old comedian Adam Sandler.
He said: “You know how I know it’s true? Because her crush since she was a kid was Adam Sandler, and I’m not far.
“I think Sandler’s beautiful, so I’m not trying to degrade him in any way. But that to me clarifies that this is real because if you think Adam Sandler is number one sex symbol, then I could be a guy for you.”
Meanwhile, Margaret previously described the producer as “my person”.
Speaking to Harper’s Bazaar in 2023 before they married, she gushed: “I am so happy that I found my person. And it’s real. It’s amazing. It’s the best feeling in the world.
“I’m so excited and so at ease all at once.”
