A man has been knocked unconscious during an attack on a busy Melbourne street.
CCTV footage obtained by 7News shows a Mickleham man, 27, waiting to cross a road at a set of traffic lights when he is hit and knocked to the ground.
Footage shows an alleged offender repeatedly punch the man while he is on the ground and another woman who joins in the attack, kicking the victim before they flee the scene in a white dual cab ute.
The 27-year-old man was rushed to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
Police believe there was a verbal altercation before the assault.
“Officers were told three offenders, one male and two females, fled the scene,” a spokesman said.
“Investigations are ongoing.”
The incident happened on Hampshire Rd at Sunshine, in Melbourne’s west, about 3.30pm on Friday, just months after a shopkeeper was killed in an attack in the same area.
Van Viet Truong, 60, was allegedly attacked by a group of teenagers outside his store in the afternoon of August 1.
Police urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has footage to contact Crime Stoppers.
