Millie Bobby Brown wants to play characters that inspire her daughter.
The Enola Holmes 3 actress and her husband Jake Bongiovi welcomed a baby girl into the world via adoption last summer and while she doesn’t expect the youngster will growing up idolising her, she admitted having a positive impact on her offspring and other young females is her main motivation when deciding what parts to play.
She told Access Hollywood: “I definitely feel now, becoming a mom, everything is about her and bringing that to life.
“I’m doing it for her, but I’m not going to expect that she’s going to want to see mom and want to be like mom.”
“On the screen, however, I want to bring more females to the screen, so if that inspires more filmmakers or young actresses to get to the screen and be that for my daughter, that would be amazing.”
The Stranger Things actress recently admitted it is a “thrilling experience” for her to do her own stunts in her movies and she hopes other actresses will be encouraged to do the same.
She said on the Happy Sad Confused podcast: “I really want young girls to think they can, you know? You’ll always hear an older actor say, ‘Don’t do your own stunts,’ and I get that.
“But back in the day, they might have been throwing you against a wall, and now, if you get a really great stunt coordinator and you learn how to land and you learn the whole technique of it, we as actors should know how to do certain things.”
She joked: “I try to do 90% and the 10% is probably, you know, in my contract that I’m not allowed, even though I beg.”
Millie is proud that Enola has proven to be such a hit with younger fans.
She said: “I’m really proud to be able to bring [Enola] to screen. Especially when young girls come up to me and say how much they love her.”
Millie previously told how she felt like “the female version of Tom Cruise” when discussing doing her own stunts for Damsel.
She told talk show host Drew Barrymore: “You’re just like, ‘Am I really gonna do that stunt?’ And then that day they’re like, ‘Yep, put the harness on,’ and I just, like, did the stunt as if it wasn’t, you know, Tom Cruise–level stuff. I felt like Tom Cruise.”
When Drew praised the Top Gun actor as “the coolest”, Millie agreed: “So cool. In this film, I feel like the female version of Tom Cruise.”
“I did all my own stunts from start to finish. And I’m really scared about doing my own stunts. Stunts are scary. … You’re just like, ‘I’m not physically trained to do this.’ “
