The 12-year-old daughter of the personal assistant of Nationalist Congress Party (Sharadchandra Pawar) MLA Rohit Pawar was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Maharashtra’s Pune district on Sunday, police said.
The girl was identified as the daughter of Pawar’s personal assistant, Ajit Dashavatare. Police said an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death was underway and that all possible angles were being examined.
GIRL LEFT HOME AFTER ARGUMENT
According to sources, the girl had a minor argument with her mother over an issue on Saturday before leaving her home in anger.
When she did not return, her family approached the police and lodged a missing-person complaint, sources said.
The girl’s body was found near her residence in the Sainagar area of Rui village in Baramati tehsil on Sunday morning, according to police.
The circumstances leading to her death were not immediately clear.
POLICE BEGIN INVESTIGATION
After receiving information about the body, police personnel reached the spot and initiated an investigation.
The body was subsequently sent to the Baramati Government Medical College and Hospital for a post-mortem examination. The report is expected to help investigators establish the circumstances and cause of death.
A senior police official said the investigation was underway and that authorities were examining the case from all possible angles.
“The police have launched an investigation into the case and are examining all possible angles,” the official said.
Police are expected to gather information about the girl’s movements after she left home, speak to family members and examine other available evidence as part of the investigation.
The death of the minor has drawn attention in Baramati, with authorities working to establish what happened between the time she left home on Saturday and when her body was found on Sunday morning.
