Heavy to very heavy rainfall, ranging from seven to 20 centimetres, is expected to persist across Kerala and Karnataka.
Coastal districts and low-lying areas should remain vigilant against potential waterlogging.
Meanwhile, Tamil Nadu will likely continue to experience scattered heavy rainfall throughout the day.
INTENSE WEATHER IN THE NORTHEAST AND NORTH
The northeast states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, and Meghalaya, will continue to face heavy to very heavy rainfall, which has been consistent over the past few days.
In contrast, northwest and central India are bracing for a mix of extreme heat and sudden storm activity.
Residents in Delhi and surrounding areas should anticipate generally cloudy skies with a high probability of thunderstorms and lightning, accompanied by strong surface winds.
Despite these clouds, maximum temperatures are likely to remain elevated between 38 t and 42 degrees Celsius.
ADVISORIES AND SAFETY MEASURES
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has advised the public to exercise caution on Friday.
During thunderstorms, individuals are urged to stay indoors and avoid taking shelter under trees to prevent risks from lightning strikes.
Furthermore, fishermen are strictly prohibited from venturing into the Arabian Sea and the Bay of Bengal, particularly off the coasts of Kerala, Karnataka, and Maharashtra, due to rough sea conditions and gusty winds.
As weather patterns remain highly dynamic, monitoring updates from the IMD is essential for the latest local warnings.
