Mysterious black triangular objects travelling at speeds of up to 1,800 miles per hour were spotted over secret US military bases on at least three occasions in the past year, newly declassified government files have revealed, raising concerns about national security and the origins of the unidentified objects.
The sightings were detailed in a fresh batch of government records released on Friday under the Trump administration’s initiative to disclose information about unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAPs), according to the New York Post. The exact dates and locations were redacted from the files for security reasons.

The objects were reportedly seen over a mountainous area where the US government tests advanced technology. Sketches released alongside the documents depict black triangular objects, but no photographs of the sightings were made public.
BLACK TRIANGLES SHOWED NO VISIBLE EXHAUST
According to an FBI report cited in the files, observers estimated that one object travelled 1.5 miles in three seconds, equivalent to around 1,800 mph. The witnesses described its speed as comparable to that of a fighter jet.
The observers estimated the object’s wingspan at nine to 15 feet, its depth at six to nine feet and its thickness at one to two feet.
The objects reportedly made no sound, showed no visible exhaust and produced a consistent heat signature when scanned with thermal equipment. Unlike conventional aircraft or drones, the objects did not show distinct areas of higher heat that might indicate engines or other propulsion systems.
A Department of War memo describing another triangular object said its exterior appeared seamless and featureless, with no visible propulsion openings, air intakes, aerodynamic control surfaces or cockpit.
The memo also stated that the two primary witnesses reported no physical effects such as nausea, headaches, disorientation, memory gaps or unusual sensory experiences.
NATIONAL SECURITY CONCERNS OVER UNEXPLAINED SIGHTINGS
The reported sightings raised concerns because of both the objects’ apparent capabilities and their presence above sensitive military sites, where the US government tests new technology.
According to the New York Post, officials ruled out the possibility that the objects were American technology. However, the available records do not establish their origin, and questions remain over whether they could belong to another country. The report noted that no known country is believed to possess the advanced capabilities described in the accounts.
The locations and dates of the sightings remain classified, limiting the ability to independently assess the incidents.
US GOVERNMENT RELEASES ANOTHER BATCH OF UFO FILES
Friday’s disclosure marked the seventh batch of government files made public under the Trump administration’s initiative to release records on UAP encounters. Officials told a small group of reporters that further disclosures were expected, the New York Post reported.
The releases form part of President Donald Trump’s pledge to increase government transparency regarding unexplained aerial phenomena.
Previous disclosures have included accounts of unidentified objects observed by military personnel and other witnesses. However, the documents released so far have not provided definitive evidence of extraterrestrial life.
The black triangle reports likewise remain unexplained in the released records. While the accounts describe unusual characteristics and speeds, they do not establish whether the objects were experimental aircraft, foreign technology or something else.
