A few hours into the world, most newborns have plenty of adjusting to do. But one baby in Egypt seemed to have skipped the chaos altogether, lying back with a composure that made it look as though he had life all figured out already.
Paediatrician and neonatologist Dr Islam Eldeh from Cairo shared a video of the newborn after a postpartum procedure, and the little one’s remarkably relaxed demeanour soon caught the internet’s attention.

In the video, the baby lies in an unusually laid-back position, looking entirely unbothered by the world around him. With his peaceful appearance and nonchalant posture, he seems less like someone who has only just arrived in the world and more like someone who has already decided there is absolutely no reason to rush.

The sight was enough to send social media users into a fit of amusement, with many imagining what the little one might be thinking. While some viewers found his composure adorable, others joked that he appeared to have his future all planned out and had no intention of stressing about it.
After all, there is something rather funny about a newborn looking as though he has already mastered the art of taking life easy, while the rest of the world spends its days worrying about what comes next.
Of course, newborns can display a variety of expressions, movements and resting postures, and a single moment cannot tell us what a baby is thinking. Yet, that did little to dampen the internet’s enthusiasm for this little one’s remarkably relaxed appearance.
