Niall Horan has released his fourth solo album Dinner Party.

The former One Direction star, whose long-term relationship with Amelia Woolley largely inspired the collection, explores “love, intimacy, fear, loss, hope, and dreams” on his follow-up to 2023’s The Show.

He said: “Dinner Party is a thank you to the past and a hello to the present, covering the big life events and the small, sometimes messy, in-between moments that actually make them up.

“Much of the album explores that tug of war between falling in love while being terrified of losing them and how that risk is actually the best part. There’s love, intimacy, fear, loss, hope, dreams – all wrapped together across it.”

Niall, now 32, described the release as “a collection of sincere sepia-toned songs”, having penned the songs after turning 30.

On Tastes So Good, Niall leans into pop‑punk as he experiments with new flavours.

The record ends with a tear-jerking tribute to his late bandmate, Liam Payne, called End of an Era, and he thinks the Strip That Down hitmaker would have liked it.

In a recent interview with the Sunday Times’ Culture magazine, he said: “I think it’s his type of song, he liked Coldplay, he loved songs like You and I by One Direction, songs that went somewhere.

“It’s funny, actually, now you say that, thinking about the stuff he liked.”

Niall’s song for Liam comes after Louis Tomlinson wrote his own tribute, Dark to Light, and Niall recalled watching fans respond to the song when he watched his friend in concert in Paris recently.

He said: “We have this shared thing, but so do the fans, they had a loss too…

“It’s hard, you can’t tell someone that you don’t know him if they feel like they do. It’s part of why people like bands, they are attracted to different personalities, they have their favourite.”
