A night of music in the bush has ended in tragedy, with a 53-year-old Nimbin man dying after he was found unresponsive at a rural property near Drake.
Emergency services were called to Leslie Creek Rd about 11.30pm on Saturday night after the man was discovered unconscious among a group gathered for a ‘bush doof’.
People at the property began first aid before CPR was continued by responders and NSW Ambulance paramedics, but the man could not be revived.
The property is about an hour west of Casino on the Far North Coast, in a remote part of northern NSW.
The man is believed to have been attending a bush doof, a term commonly used in Australia for an outdoor party held in the bush or on rural land, often featuring electronic music and campers staying on site.
Investigators are now working to piece together exactly what happened in the hours before he died.
