The National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday issued a travel advisory for candidates appearing for the UGC NET 2026 re-examinations on September 9 and 10 in Delhi, in view of traffic restrictions expected in the city during the 18th BRICS Summit. Security arrangements are being made for the summit, which is scheduled to be held at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi from September 11 to 13.

The re-test is being conducted for English, Sociology and Commerce. The NTA has advised candidates to check their routes in advance, start early and allow extra time to reach their examination centres, as traffic restrictions on September 9 and 10 may result in longer-than-usual travel times.
NTA ISSUE TRAVEL ADVISORY
Candidates have been advised to:
- Plan their trip in advance
- Beware of possible traffic restrictions
- Keep sufficient buffer time
- Reach their examination centre early
Candidates are also advised to adhere to the reporting time and other instructions mentioned on their admit cards. They should make travel arrangements and plan their journeys to avoid any inconvenience or delays in reaching the examination centre.
WHY IS THERE A RE-TEST?
The NTA conducted UGC-NET June 2026 from June 22 to 30 across 87 subjects for Junior Research Fellowship, assistant professor eligibility and admission to PhD programmes.
The agency received complaints about errors in the English, Commerce and Sociology question papers and formed a committee to examine them.
The committee found factual, typographical and translation errors, including misspelt names of scholars, incorrect book titles, grammatical mistakes, punctuation errors and repeated questions.
The English and Commerce papers are scheduled to be re-conducted on September 9, while Sociology will be held on September 10.
