The AIAPGET 2026 examination was conducted in two shifts across approximately 205 centres. Of the 51,482 candidates registered for the examination, 49,867 appeared for the test.
WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 49 CANDIDATES?
The disruption occurred at Shri Satya Sai PG College in Jaipur, where 192 candidates were scheduled to appear for the examination. According to the NTA, a power failure at the centre prevented 49 candidates from completing their computer-based test.
The examination was successfully conducted for thousands of candidates across the country. However, the affected candidates at the Jaipur centre were unable to finish their papers due to the disruption in power supply.
The incident also reportedly caused further disruption during the second shift. Candidates scheduled to appear later in the day were affected as the power supply remained unavailable at the centre.
Candidates appearing in the second shift were scheduled to enter the examination centre between 1 pm and 2.30 pm. However, reports indicated that several candidates were still waiting outside the centre even after 3 pm as the disruption continued.
The NTA has now scheduled a re-examination for the 49 affected candidates on September 1, 2026.
