The National Testing Agency will publish the UGC NET June 2026 provisional answer keys on August 16, 2026.

The announcement was made by NTA through its official social media account, with the agency advising candidates to rely only on official communications for further updates.

The release will cover not just UGC NET but also the Joint CSIR-UGC NET and ICAR AIEEA (PG) and AICE (PhD) 2026 examinations. NTA conducts these examinations as part of its mandate to administer national-level entrance and eligibility tests.

WHAT CANDIDATES SHOULD CHECK

Once the provisional keys are available, candidates will be able to compare the answers recorded in their response sheets with the answers indicated by NTA.

The provisional answer key is an important stage before the declaration of results because it gives candidates an opportunity to identify any answer they believe is incorrect.

For UGC NET, candidates should keep their examination details and login credentials ready and check the official NTA portal when the key is released.

Earlier updates on UGC NET June 2026 had indicated that candidates would receive access to their response sheets and question papers along with the answer key. The examination is used to determine eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship, Assistant Professor positions and PhD admissions.

PROVISIONAL DOES NOT MEAN FINAL

Candidates should remember that the August 16 release will be a provisional answer key, not the final version.

After the provisional key is released, NTA will follow its answer-key challenge process. Valid objections are examined before the final answer key is prepared. The final key is then used for result preparation.

For candidates, the immediate priority is therefore to check the key carefully once it goes live and follow NTA’s instructions for any challenge.

NTA has specifically asked candidates to avoid relying on unofficial posts or messages about the release and examination process. With August 16 now confirmed, UGC NET, CSIR-NET and ICAR aspirants have a clear next date in the post-examination timeline.
