Retired Indian Air Force Group Captain Amit Kumar Gupta, a veteran of the 1999 Kargil War, was attacked with an iron rod by a parking attendant in Gurugram on Thursday night, leaving him seriously injured.
According to his complaint, the incident took place around 8 pm when he reached Magnum Global Park in his car after dropping his family at a restaurant.

The Operation Safed Sagar veteran alleged that the parking staff repeatedly directed him between the valet area, basement and multi-level parking before eventually refusing to let him park his vehicle.
The situation escalated when Gupta attempted to reverse his car. A parking attendant attacked the vehicle with an iron rod, intending to break its front windshield. When Gupta stepped out of the car and objected, the attendant hit him with the rod.
One blow struck Gupta on the head and another hit his arm, leaving him bleeding and injured. The complaint further alleged that security personnel and other parking staff present at the spot did not come forward to help him.
Gupta also alleged that despite calling the police helpline, no assistance arrived for around half an hour. He said a chef eventually intervened and helped save his life.
Gupta was subsequently taken by ambulance to a private hospital in a serious condition. He underwent complex surgery for a broken elbow, during which plates were inserted to repair the fractured bone.
The retired officer has also levelled serious allegations against the police and the hospital. He alleged that the hospital prepared a false medico-legal case (MLC) report that did not mention the bleeding from his head or the serious injury to his elbow.
In his written complaint, Gupta sought immediate registration of an FIR against the accused parking attendant under stringent sections, including those related to attempted murder and causing grievous injury, and demanded strict action.
Police said they have started an investigation after Gupta filed a written complaint.
