Oppo Reno 16 Pro, Oppo Reno 16 expected specifications and features
Oppo hasn’t yet confirmed the Reno 16 series models it is planning to launch in India though based on its existing portfolio in China, we can expect there would be two variants at least: Reno 16 and Reno 16 Pro.
The Oppo Reno 16 Pro is likely to feature a larger 6.78-inch 1.5K AMOLED display, while the standard Reno 16 comes with a more compact 6.32-inch 1.5K OLED panel. Both could share the same 120Hz refresh rate, 240Hz touch sampling rate, and up to 1,800 nits of peak brightness.
Under the hood, the two phones may have different chips. The Reno 16 Pro may be powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500s, while the Reno 16 is said to run on the Dimensity 8550 Super. Both phones could offer up to 16GB LPDDR5x RAM and up to 1TB UFS 3.1 storage and run Android 16-based ColorOS 16 out of the box.
The camera system may be identical across both models. You may get a triple rear setup headlined by a 200-megapixel OIS-enabled primary shooter, a 50-megapixel ultrawide, and a 50-megapixel periscope telephoto with up to 3.5x optical zoom. The front camera may be a 50-megapixel shooter on both, with video recording topping out at 4K at 60fps.
Battery is another area where the Reno 16 Pro could pull ahead. It may carry a larger 7,000mAh cell compared to the Reno 16’s 6,700mAh battery. Both could support 80W wired fast charging.
Alongside the Reno 16 series, Oppo is also bringing its new Bubble accessory to India. For those who have never heard of it, the Oppo Bubble is a small circular AMOLED touchscreen that magnetically attaches to the back of your phone, essentially turning your rear camera into a selfie camera. Instead of guessing your framing when taking selfies with the main camera, you get a live preview right on the tiny display.
