Over 20 feet of wastes is removed from Kukatpally Lake by HYDRAA.

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Disaster Response and Asset Protection Agency ( HYDRAA ) announced on Wednesday that waste-laden silt is being removed from a lake in Kukatpally that has been accumulated at the bottom over decades of idol immersions.

The IDL Lake has been cleared of more than 20 feet of gravel. It is riddled with hazardous waste, with sewage directly entering the water body, significant amounts of plastic waste, Plaster of Paris ( PoP ), coconut fiber, and other garbage that prevents water from escaping into the ground.

During the ten-day Ganesh Chaturthi celebration, dozens of superstar sessions are being prepared indefinitely.

HYDRAA Commissioner AV Ranganath inspected the plans and advised authorities to make sure water is accessible without stumbling the ongoing restoration projects.
