Patriot Resources has expanded its 100 per cent-owned Tassa silver-gold project in southern Peru, staking a new tenement that directly adjoins its existing 31.4-million-ounce silver-equivalent maiden resource. The move comes against a global backdrop of persistent silver supply deficits and renewed interest in high-grade development stories.

Macroeconomic data from the Silver Institute confirms multiple consecutive years of structural market deficits driven by inelastic industrial demand. Silver, being among the most conductive and relatively inexpensive metals, cannot easily be replaced, particularly in areas of photovoltaics and vehicle electrification.

Patriot Resources is continuing exploration of its Tassa silver project in Peru to refine targets for a proposed first phase drilling program.

That condition is bolstered by the fact that while silver is crucial for solar panels and electronics, it only makes up a tiny fraction of the total product cost, so tech manufacturers must buy it to maintain production, regardless of price fluctuations.

The addition of the company’s new “Tassa 5” tenement increases the company’s land package by 50 per cent, from 1200 hectares to 1800ha, and extends the project’s interpreted mineralised strike length from 2.9 kilometres to 3.1km.

The new ground sits immediately south of the company’s existing tenure, following the high-grade geological system controlled by the Tassa Fault which underpins its Tassa project.

Patriot acquired the project in December 2025. By February this year, the company had already tabled a significant maiden inferred mineral resource of 31.4 million ounces of silver equivalent, grading 52.68 grams per tonne silver equivalent. The company says the resource remains open in all directions.

The project’s address in southern Peru is also noteworthy, with Patriot pointing out that a number of major mining houses, including Buenaventura, Teck, Barrick and Fresnillo, have all taken up surrounding and in some cases, contiguous land packages in the region. Peru is consistently ranked among the world’s top producers of silver and copper. The presence of majors in the neighbourhood suggests the district is already highly regarded by sophisticated operators.

While the new ground is yet to be drilled, historical exploration on the original Tassa project has returned a string of high-grade silver and gold intercepts that hint at the system’s potential.

Patriot Resources chief executive officer and managing director Dominic Duggan said: “Tassa 5 gives us the final piece of available highly prospective land in the vicinity, directly adjoining our existing project – directly along the trend of a system that’s already open in every direction. Our focus remains working with the Tassa and Pachamayo communities to progress a community agreement to support a Phase 1 drilling program.”

Previous drilling delivered a 60-metre hit grading 224.2 grams per tonne (g/t) silver from just 24m downhole, which included a higher-grade 16m section at 383g/t silver. Within that, a 2m intercept gave up a whopping 1620g/t silver.

Another hole returned 24m at 291 g/t silver from 24m, with a 2m section going a bonanza 2410g/t silver. Other notable silver results include 12m at 174.66g/t silver from 164m, and 37m at 113.5 g/t silver from 154m.

The project also boasts historical gold intercepts including a broad 234m assaying 0.25 g/t gold from 200m and a shallower 16m intercept grading 1.5 g/t gold from 102m.

The company has confirmed that Tassa’s Environmental Impact Declaration, or “DIA”, remains valid and free of observations from Peru’s Ministry of Energy and Mines.

Patriot is also continuing direct board-level engagement with the local Tassa community and has now begun talks with the Pachamayo community, whose land overlaps the newly-staked Tassa 5 tenement. In Peru, securing a social licence to operate from local communities is vital and often outweighs matters of mineral wealth and geology.

Management says it will continue geological mapping and sampling across the broader project area to refine targets for a planned first phase drilling program, which at this stage remains subject to reaching a community agreement.

With a solid resource already in the bag, some solid historical drill numbers to chase up and now an expanded footprint in a world-class mineral belt, Patriot appears to be methodically assembling the pieces for its next chapter in Peru.
