Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday urged the BJP’s newly appointed national office-bearers to remain active on social media and use digital platforms to strengthen the party’s engagement with the youth.

Modi spent nearly four-and-a-half hours with the new team at the BJP headquarters in New Delhi, marking their first meeting since BJP president Nitin Nabin announced the 65-member organisational team on August 17.

PM MODI FOCUSES ON YOUTH CONNECT

During the interaction, Modi congratulated the newly appointed office-bearers and extended his best wishes to them. He advised the leaders to maintain an active presence on social media to connect with young people and ensure the party’s message reaches a wider youth audience.

The Prime Minister also held informal discussions over tea with the office-bearers, with some leaders sharing their ideas and perspectives. A group photograph was taken with the newly appointed team.

Modi later joined the office-bearers for a meal prepared using millets, adding an informal touch to the lengthy interaction.

BJP STEPS UP ‘YUVA SAMVAD’

The Prime Minister’s emphasis on social media comes as the BJP prepares to intensify its “Yuva Samvad” initiative, aimed at sustained engagement with young people.

Earlier in the day, Nabin chaired a meeting of the new office-bearers where the party discussed its organisational strategy, upcoming Assembly elections, grassroots mobilisation and communication of government initiatives.

According to sources, the BJP is planning major youth outreach programmes targeting people aged 14 and above, including members of Gen Z and Gen Alpha.

The party is also forming dedicated teams of senior leaders from across the country for the outreach drive. The Bharatiya Janata Yuva Morcha has been tasked with helping constitute and mobilise these teams, while former national office-bearers are also expected to play a key role.

PM MODI HOLDS SEPARATE MEETINGS

Modi also held separate meetings with Nitin Nabin, BL Santosh and Shivkumar during his visit to the party headquarters.

In his meeting with Nabin, the Prime Minister discussed the names being considered for the BJP Parliamentary Board. The names of the new members are expected to be announced soon.

BJP REVIEWS ELECTION PREPARATIONS

The meeting also focused on preparations for upcoming Assembly elections and strengthening the BJP’s organisation at the grassroots level.

Nabin is scheduled to chair another organisational review meeting at the BJP headquarters extension at 10 am on Sunday. State BJP presidents, organisational general secretaries and state in-charges from across the country are expected to attend.

The meeting will review preparations for elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Punjab and other poll-bound states, besides discussing party programmes and broader organisational issues.

The new 65-member team includes prominent figures such as former Union minister Smriti Irani and RSS national executive member Ram Madhav, who have returned to key organisational roles.

BJP PASSES VANDE MATARAM RESOLUTION

The BJP also passed a resolution condemning the Congress Working Committee’s decision to sing only the first two stanzas of Vande Mataram at party events.

The resolution said the BJP would not accept any compromise on the honour and legacy of the national song for “political convenience or appeasement”.

“A political compromise of 1937 cannot be elevated above the constitutional settlement of 1950 and legislation enacted by Parliament in 2026,” the BJP president said.
