More than 200 branded cattle have disappeared from a NSW outback station, leaving detectives unable to determine if the herd was stolen or simply wandered off.
About 155 black Angus cows, 8 bulls and 48 Shorthorn cows and a bull were reported missing from a cattle station on West Wilcannia Rd at Wilcannia, about 22okm east of Broken Hill, in NSW’s northwest, about 6pm on September 6.
The herd were branded with a capital “F” over a lower case “b”.
They were also marked with a “V” in each ear and had a rectangle tag under each ear.
Detectives believe the cattle may have strayed or were stolen from the station.
Police urge landholders or anyone in the area with information about the incident to contact Crime Stoppers.
