Ahead of welcoming their second child, actor Deepika Padukone made a rare public appearance on Saturday night when she was seen at Mumbai airport with her baby bump visible. Her actor-husband, Ranveer Singh, dropped her off but remained seated inside their black car.
The sighting came as the couple shared small updates about their growing family. Deepika recently posted a humorous pregnancy-related Instagram Story, while Ranveer said at a public event that he was about to become a father of two. At the same time, the shooting schedule of Ranveer’s upcoming film Pralay was reportedly being shifted to Mumbai so that he could stay close to Deepika.

For her airport appearance, Deepika kept her look simple. She wore an oversized light blue striped shirt with loose blue jeans and carried a tan shoulder bag. She also wore dark sunglasses, tied her hair in a neat bun, and her green nails stood out in the otherwise minimal look.
As reported by India Today earlier, the shooting schedule of Pralay was changed because Ranveer wanted to be around Deepika as they prepared for parenthood for the second time. A source close to the development told us, “Ranveer wants to be around Deepika as they embrace parenthood for the second time. He doesn’t want to be away and, hence, the production is making arrangements to shift the schedule in the city.”
The report said the team was also unable to secure permissions to shoot at certain locations in Australia. With both factors in play, the makers and Ranveer decided to move the schedule to Mumbai.
More about the couple
Deepika and Ranveer welcomed their first child, daughter Dua, in September 2024. Since then, they have shared only a few updates about their family life and have kept their daughter away from the public eye.
Earlier this month, Deepika reposted a humorous reel on her Instagram Stories about the reality of caring for one child while expecting another. The clip showed a pregnant woman lifting and carrying a toddler despite the usual advice against lifting heavy weights during pregnancy. It read, “Don’t lift anything over 20 pounds while pregnant. Me this entire pregnancy.” Deepika added a Spider-Man sticker at the top of the story.
The couple’s second pregnancy also came up recently at an event where Ranveer was promoting his health brand. In a video that went viral, he reacted to a female fan who praised his coffee-making skills and appeared to flirt with him. Ranveer said, “Itna flirt kar rahi hai, mein 2 bache ka baap banne wala hoon yaar,” which means, “You are flirting so much. I’m about to become a father of two, man.”
As the clip spread online, one fan also pointed out that the 41-year-old appeared to cross his fingers while speaking about his children.
Earlier this year, Deepika and Ranveer announced that they were expecting their second child through a joint Instagram post. The photo showed their daughter Dua holding a pregnancy test kit with a positive result, while the caption carried only evil eye emojis. The post drew congratulatory messages from fans and well-wishers on social media.
Ranveer and Deepika first met during the filming of Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela in 2013. They later worked together in Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat, 83 and Singham Again.
After dating for nearly six years, they married in a private ceremony at Lake Como in Italy in November 2018. The couple announced the birth of their daughter on September 8, 2024, through a joint Instagram post that read, “Welcome baby girl. 8-9-2024. Deepika & Ranveer (sic).” They revealed her name in November 2024, nearly two months later.
Upcoming projects
On the work front, Deepika is set to star opposite Shah Rukh Khan in Siddharth Anand’s King and will also work with Allu Arjun in Atlee’s AA22xA6. Ranveer was last seen in Dhurandhar: The Revenge and is now preparing for Pralay, a post-apocalyptic thriller.
He was also recently at the centre of the Don 3 controversy after his reported exit from the Farhan Akhtar-directed film, which led to industry debate and a public dispute with the makers.
