Presley Gerber, son of Cindy Crawford and Rande Gerber, died of suspected overdose

Police are investigating the death of 27-year-old model and mental health advocate Presley Gerber, the son of supermodel Cindy Crawford and American businessman Rande Gerber, as a suspected overdose.

The Los Angeles County Medical Examiner confirmed that Presley – older brother of model and actor Kaia Gerber – died on Sunday (US Pacific Daylight Time) while at a rehabilitation facility, according to People and TMZ.

Presley went into cardiac arrest before his death, a leaked 911 audio recording obtained by People said. Police also told ABC News Presley died from a suspected overdose.

Santa Monica Police Department said in a statement to People that officers discovered Presley dead upon arrival.

“[Santa Monica Police Detectives] are investigating the death as a suspected overdose,” the statement said.

“At this time, there is no indication of foul play. The official cause and manner of death will be determined by the Los Angeles County Department of Medical Examiner. The investigation remains ongoing.”

A representative for Rande Gerber confirmed Presley’s death, according to numerous US reports.

“The family is asking for privacy during this very difficult and painful time,” the representative said.

Presley began modelling as a teenager alongside his sister Kaia and was signed by the agency IMG Models at 15. He had been open about his mental health struggles, including depression and substance abuse, before becoming an advocate.

In 2019, Presley was arrested and charged with drink-driving, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

He was sentenced to three years on probation and ordered to complete a drink-driving program in addition to two days of community service.

In 2023, Presley launched a recurring series on Instagram called “Mental Health Mondays” in which he sat in front of a camera and spoke candidly about his mental health journey.

The videos stopped about the end of 2025. At the time, Presley said: “When I started Mental Health Mondays, the goal was to spark real conversations about the stuff most people hide.

“It’s been incredible seeing how far that message has spread and how many people it’s helped. I’m proud that something I created has inspired others and started a bigger movement around openness and healing.”

In a now-deleted video from his series, Presley said he took a swath of different antidepressants to treat panic attacks.

Last month, his sister Kaia toldVogue in an interview that Presley had struggled with addiction for a decade, and explored the impact it had on her and the family.

“When something like that happens in a family, it kind of levels everyone,” Kaia said. “I think that’s also why I started to self-​identify as the easy [child] and never wanted to ask for help. Because it felt like too much to have two children who were needing.”

Kaia said Presley’s videos each Monday were particularly impactful.

“My parents for most of our lives were very, very private and didn’t share anything – and now we have this absolute teacher, my brother, who says, ‘I’m gonna be very human for everyone,’ ” she said.

“There’s only so much you can hide from the world. And trying to put a lid on something just makes the person feel like you’re ashamed of them.”
