Princess Anne has reportedly handed Prince William a cutting warning “not to make enemies” as rumours swirl about his relationship with his father, King Charles.
It is believed Princess Anne is concerned William and Charles are “drifting apart”, which could spell that William’s rule could be just as turbulent as the start of his father’s.
Reports suggest tensions between Queen Camilla and Prince Harry and Meghan Markle have aggravated Charles and William’s relationship.
“(Princess Anne is) worried about Kate and the children and has warned him that now’s not the time to make enemies or he’ll have just as difficult a reign as his father’s having,” a royal source told New Idea.
Princess Anne is also desperate to ensure Princess Kate and the kids aren’t “being isolated” by the rest of the family, and has roped in her daughter Zara Tindall and her husband Mike to maintain the family unit.
“William and Kate both seem so guarded these days, even with (Anne), which is why she’s adamant Zara keeps an eye on them,” the source said.
It’s not just William that has been the centre of Anne’s concern — reports suggest the Princess Royal is “angry” her trip to South Korea was upstaged by Prince Harry’s announcement that the Invictus Games will be held in the same country.
“Anne’s not happy and expressed as such to her brother Charles, but what upsets her the most is that Harry must know what he’s doing,” another source told New Idea.
“He could have waited a week at the very least.”
