Actor and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has backed actor Isha Koppikar after she described herself as a proud ‘andhbhakt’ in a social media video. Isha clarified that her devotion was not towards any political party or leader, but towards India and its progress.
Sharing Isha’s video on her Instagram Stories, Kangana said she could relate to the actor’s views and listed several instances where she had spoken up against issues she disagreed with.

“Wow!! Well explained as for me,” Kangana wrote before listing several examples from her life.
She recalled protesting against a teacher who hit children with a stick during school assembly and said she had also protested against the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks and the Nirbhaya case.
Kangana also said she had never blamed her parents for any limitations she may have faced and instead worked to improve the lives of her family.
She concluded her post by saying, “Identifies being a bhakt of almost anyone who I meet, I love my country I love my people, I simply love my life.”
What did Isha Koppikar say?
In her video, Isha explained why she was comfortable calling herself an ‘andhbhakt’, a term generally used to describe someone seen as a blind supporter of a political party or leader.
“Yes, I am an andhbhakt. If it is bhakti to love your country and want to see it progress, then yes, I am proud to be a bhakt… andhbhakt,” she said.
However, Isha stressed that her loyalty was not to a political party.
“But my blind devotion is not towards any political party; it’s towards my country. Nation first. I can question the government and disagree with its policies. And still love my country wholeheartedly,” she added.
Isha also spoke about being proud of India and said patriotism should go beyond simply saying that one loves their country.
“This country is my home, where I have earned and continue to earn a livelihood and where I continue to get opportunities. So, I am not ashamed to be proud of my country,” she said.
She added that people should respect the place they call home and contribute towards making it better.
Kangana’s earlier comments on Gen Z protests
Kangana has previously faced criticism for her comments about Gen Z protesters at Jantar Mantar.
Last month, she described some of the content from the protests in strong terms and referred to the protesters as “Generation Gutter”. Her comments drew backlash on social media.
She later clarified that she was not referring to all young people or everyone who took part in the protests. Speaking to ANI, Kangana said her remarks were directed at specific people and some women whose behaviour she had criticised.
She also argued that she was responding to protesters who had used the term “cockroaches” for themselves, rather than making a statement about the entire youth population.
