The BJP on Monday announced its new national team, retaining several prominent leaders in key organisational roles while bringing former Union minister Smriti Irani back into the party’s central structure as a national general secretary.
Former Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia, Baijayant Jay Panda, Rekha Verma and Tariq Mansoor have retained their positions as national vice presidents. Vinod Tawde and Sunil Bansal will continue as national general secretaries, while BL Santhosh remains national general secretary (organisation).

Anil Antony has been retained as a national secretary, while Anil Baluni will continue in a key national media role. Five of the 13 national vice presidents are women, but Smriti Irani is the only woman among the eight national general secretaries.
The appointments were announced by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and came into effect immediately, according to a party statement dated August 17.
Congratulating the newly appointed office-bearers, Nabin said the team’s blend of experience and energy would give fresh momentum to the organisation under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guidance.
He expressed confidence that its members would work as dedicated party workers to strengthen the BJP and advance its vision of a “Viksit Bharat” and nation-building.
RAJE, RAM MADHAV AMONG 13 VICE PRESIDENTS
Former BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav has been appointed a national vice president, marking his return to a key organisational post.
The other vice presidents are former Uttarakhand Chief Minister Tirath Singh Rawat, D Purandeswari, Varshaben Narendrabhai Doshi, Bharti Pravin Pawar, Manpreet Singh Badal, Lal Singh Arya, M Nagaraja and Madhuchandra Kar.
Raje, Panda, Rekha Verma and Tariq Mansoor have been retained in the post.
SMRITI IRANI NAMED GENERAL SECRETARY
Smriti Irani is among eight leaders appointed national general secretaries. The others are Vinod Tawde, Sunil Bansal, former Tripura Chief Minister Biplab Kumar Deb, Satish Poonia, Gajendra Patel, Harish Dwivedi and Sanjay Bhatia.
This is the first major role for Irani since her loss in the 2024 Lok Sabha elections.
Shivprakash and Saudan Singh have been appointed national joint general secretaries (organisation), while BL Santhosh will continue to oversee the party organisation at the national level.
Former Congress spokesperson Rohan Gupta has been elevated as a BJP national secretary. Anil Antony has retained the same position.
PIYUSH GOYAL NAMED TREASURER
Union minister Piyush Goyal has been appointed the BJP’s national treasurer, with Rajesh Mangal named national joint treasurer.
The party also announced appointments to its organisational and outreach wings. Sambit Patra has been made the North-East coordinator, while Tarun Chugh has been appointed central office in-charge.
Deepak Mhaskey has been named the BJP’s social media convenor.
