Mark Mezrani, owner and chief executive of kids toy retail chain Kidstuff and a former bullion trader at Macquarie Bank, and his wife, Rosemary, have put their interim Mosman home on the market with a price guide of $17 million.

The listing may not be a surprise to locals, given the Mezranis are understood to be the $40 million buyers of a mansion elsewhere in the suburb owned by Sydney Swans chairman Andrew Pridham.

The vendors of this $17 million home for sale in Sydney’s Mosman are preparing to move elsewhere in the blue-chip suburb.

Sold on the quiet two years ago by Atlas Lower North Shore’s Michael Coombs and believed to be settling on Monday, the deal might give Pridham some welcome news amid the AFL club’s legal woes following an alleged sexual assault investigation including key players.

Records show the Mezranis bought their interim home – a six-bedroom, five-bathroom abode with a pool for $12,915,000 – in March last year. An extensive renovation retains the classic Federation style with leadlight windows but allows for contemporary additions such as European marble. Approved DA plans lodged with council estimate $334,235 worth of work.

The residence for sale was considered an interim home ahead of their move.

The Mezranis have listed their residence with Coombs, the same agent that sold their prior Mosman home, another Federation-style, six-bedroom, four-bathroom home with a pool for $25 million in an off-market deal in 2023. Bought for $5.5 million in 2001, they sold to locals Duane Cadman, a partner at StepStone Group, and his interior designer wife, Jennie.

Pridham made headlines in 2024 with his $40 million home sale which was a then-suburb record. The Federation residence long known as “Kia Lama” was last traded for $6,050,750 in 1998. Set on more than 2600 square metres, there is a tennis court, pool and gym.

Pridham, who co-founded MA Financial Group in 2009 and is group vice chairman of the global alternative asset manager, is well versed in buying and selling.

In 2018, he and wife Carolyn set a high of $25 million, buying the harbourside mansion known as “Hopetoun” in Mosman’s “golden triangle” from businessman Wai Kong Lo.

The residence was built by property developer Bob Rose, who sold it to Lo for $4.9 million in 1994. The 2018 sale was handled by Geoff Smith and Richard Harding of Ray White Lower North Shore, in conjunction with Sandy Dunn.

It’s understood Kia Lama sold on an extended settlement period through Coombs, freeing Pridham to complete a rebuild of Hopetoun.

Approved DA plans lodged with council reveal estimated $7,964,000 of works by Cadence & Co Design.

Gold mogul lists $17m dazzler

Andrew Cochineas, chief executive officer of Pallion, and his wife, Lisette, the former NSW and ACT general manager for the Institute of Chartered Accountants, are offloading one of their two Mosman trophy homes with a price guide of $17 million.

The buyers of a palatial $50 million mansion in Mosman have listed this home, their other residence in the suburb, for $17 million.

It’s understandable they are saying farewell to one, given they emerged in May as the buyers of a $50 million mansion elsewhere in the suburb, making it both a suburb and north shore record.

Pallion is a precious metal services group in Australasia that owns gold dealer ABC Bullion and has a jewellery division.

The Mediterranean villa for sale has multiple entertainment zones.

The Cochineas family’s $17 million listing is a tri-level, four-bedroom, four-bathroom residence with a pool, cellar, gym and steam room. Records show they bought it for $3.25 million in 2006.

Architect Daniel Boddam said his firm completed the design of the now-Mediterranean villa in 2011 and made some minor modifications in 2021. Interiors are by Cameron Kimber Design.

The Cochineas’ current home is a three-storey, six-bedroom, seven-bathroom property, purchased for $50 million from the Balnaves philanthropic family, who bought it for $6,525,000 in 2001.

Michael Coombs of Atlas Lower North Shore sold the $50 million home in conjunction with Adrian Bridges, who is now at Raine & Horne Mosman. Coombs is also selling the $17 million residence.

Home of late aviation pioneer for sale

A female trailblazer once lived in this North Sydney home.

A waterfront residence in North Sydney that was home to late aviation pioneer Nancy-Bird Walton for a decade has hit the market with a price guide of $15 million.

Walton learned to fly at age 17 in 1933, taught by aviation pioneer Sir Charles Kingsford Smith. At age 19, she became the first woman in Australia to obtain her commercial pilot’s licence and operated an air ambulance service in outback NSW.

The vendor is the daughter of late aviation pioneer Nancy-Bird Walton.

Walton lived in the self-contained studio at the address from 1996 to 2006. Records show her daughter, Anne Marie Holman, and son-in-law Peter Holman, an orthopaedic surgeon, purchased the property for $2.16 million in 1996.

Walton was awarded an Officer of the Order of Australia in 1990 and an Officer of the Order of the British Empire in 1996. Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport, to open in October, has been named in her honour.

Matthew Smythe, Mark Jackson and Djordje Kresovic of Belle Property Lower North Shore Group, are selling the home.
