Rowdy-sheeter detained for threatening and extorting.

A rowdy-sheeter has been detained by the Shankarpally authorities in Hyderabad and is accused of allegedly threatening people with severe consequences and extorting their money in various situations.

Mohammed Muneer Pasha Qureshi, 44, was charged with acting as a native adult in disputes between people in Mahalingapuram.

He allegedly collected Rupees 50, 000 from them on numerous occasions under the pretense of resolving the dispute about two years ago while mediating a husband and wife’s divorce. He reportedly threatened the subjects that if they made the disclosure to another, he would kill them.

A circumstance against Qureshi was registered on the basis of a complaint filed by the patients at Shankarpally Police Station, and an investigation was launched.

The accused had apparently been evading the Shankarpally Police for the past few days. Officers searched and detained him at Shankarpally on Saturday, August 29 and acted on reliable data.

He was later brought before the court and detained for criminal trial.

Authorities have urged anyone who may have been a victim of Qureshi to come forth and report to Shankarpally Police Station without any concern in the interim.
