The State Bank of India, SBI, has invited applications for the post of Group Chief Information Security Officer (CISO), offering a compensation package of up to 2.5 crore per annum. The selected candidate will be responsible for leading the bank’s cybersecurity strategy, information security framework and security operations.
The application process began on September 4, 2026, and eligible candidates can apply until September 24, 2026. According to the SBI notification, the compensation for the Group CISO post will be negotiable and based on the candidate’s experience and suitability for the role.

The maximum compensation offered is Rs 2.5 crore per annum.
WHO CAN APPLY FOR SBI GROUP CISO POST?
The position is open to Indian citizens who meet the prescribed age, educational and professional experience requirements.
Candidates must be not more than 57 years old as on August 31, 2026. Applicants should also have 15 to 20 years of experience in IT or information technology, with relevant experience suited to the Group CISO role.
SBI GROUP CISO EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION
Candidates applying for the post must have an eligible technical or postgraduate qualification from a university, institution or board recognised by the Government of India or approved by the relevant regulatory authorities.
Applicants can have a BTech/BE in any of the following disciplines:
- Computer Science
- Computer Science and Engineering
- Software Engineering
- Information Technology
- Electronics
- Electronics and Communications Engineering
- Cyber Security
- Equivalent degree in the specified disciplines
Candidates with a BTech/BE qualification must have secured at least 50 per cent marks.
Alternatively, candidates with MCA, MTech or MSc in Computer Science, Computer Science and Engineering, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics, Electronics and Communications Engineering or Cyber Security can also apply, subject to the prescribed conditions.
