Police are investigating after a southwestern Sydney business was set on fire on Saturday morning, with a video posted online linking the incident to a Sydney underworld figure.

The video uploaded to social media showed a man igniting the blaze before running from the scene.

The clip was uploaded by SCN WorldStar, an account dedicated to Sydney’s underworld.

In the post, SCN WorldStar said it was sent the video by an anonymous account along with an accompanying message directed at underworld figure Mohammed “Little Crazy” Hamzy.

“This is directed at Mohammed ‘LC’ Hamzy,” the message read.

The video showed a person lighting a long trail of accelerant, which had been poured on the ground, resulting in a fireball.

The man’s foot was briefly set on fire before he ran from the scene, as alarms could be heard in the background.

NSW Police said in a statement that emergency services were called to the fire at Gow Street, Padstow around 2.40am on Saturday.
