Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board ( HMWSSB ) is diverting Godavari waters to the areas that depend on these reservoirs as the water reserves in the Singur and Manjeera reservoirs are significantly declining.
At Velimela village near the Outer Ring Road ( ORR ), work has been done to connect the 3000 mm diameter Godavari Ring Main to the 1200 mm diameter Manjira Phase III, IV gravity main pipelines.
On Sunday, October 25, the Water Board’s Technical Director Prabhu and its Chief General Manager Rajasekhar inspected the development of these projects field-by-field.
They gave instructions to the concerned authorities to finish the work quickly and arrange for the Singur-Manjeera offer system to be diverted Godavari waters.
According to authorities, this will minimize interruptions in the supply of drinking water even when there are water shortages.
