Actor Sivakarthikeyan turned the spotlight on his fans at a packed meeting in Porur, Chennai, on Sunday, declaring that his stardom was not built by him alone but by the people who stood with him. Addressing around 3,000 fans and administrators, the actor called himself a “people-made star” and spoke about staying focused, valuing education and putting family first.
“You call me a self-made star, but it was the people who made me a star. I am a people-made star,” Sivakarthikeyan said at the event.

The actor also urged those present to remain clear about their purpose and not be distracted by criticism. Speaking about the need to focus on what matters, he said, “We need to clearly understand what our purpose is. We need to be clear about it. Those who criticise will always continue to criticise. But all of us are together out of love and for love.”
Sivakarthikeyan also used the occasion to stress the importance of education, financial independence and family. He urged his fans to study well and earn well, while reminding them that family should remain the priority.
“Study well. Earn well. Family should always come first. Read books for at least 15 minutes every day. The more we read, the more our thinking improves. It can also be an alternative to staying away from social media,” he said.
His fan-meeting also comes amid growing attention around similar fan interactions by other Tamil stars. Dhanush’s recent meetings with his fans had sparked speculation about a possible political entry, while Suriya too recently held a meeting with his fans. Sivakarthikeyan’s latest interaction is likely to draw similar attention, particularly as he spoke at length about his fans, his journey and the need to stay focused.
He is currently working on Seyon, one of his upcoming films that has generated considerable interest among Tamil cinema audiences. He also has SK27 in the pipeline, which is being directed by Ramkumar Balakrishnan, who made his directorial debut with the critically acclaimed Parking. The film is backed by Sathya Jyothi Films and marks an interesting collaboration between the actor and the filmmaker.
