Long-running TV satire South Park has taken a dig at US President Donald Trump after its latest Emmy win.
The irreverent show won Outstanding Animated Program at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards on Sunday, and the official South Park social media accounts could not resist teasing the President of the United States, who was heavily mocked throughout season 27.
The official account shared the show’s fictionalised version of Trump celebrating with the trophy, alongside the words: “You finally got your Emmy”.
In the caption, the social media team gave a nod to South Park creators Trey Parker and Matt Stone.
“Congratulations to Trey Parker, Matt Stone, and the entire South Park team on their Emmy win for Outstanding Animated Program!”, they wrote.
The award marked the animated show’s first Emmy since 2013, when it won Outstanding Animated Program.
On Sunday, South Park was recognised for its July 2025 episode Sermon on The Mount, which mocked Trump and his supporters.
The premiere showed a fictionalised version of the president in bed with Satan, and ended with a deepfake of Trump walking naked through the desert.
This year’s Emmy marked South Park’s fifth win as a series, having also been recognised in the Outstanding Animated Program (for Programming Less Than One Hour) category in 2005, 2007 and 2009.
Trump, 80, is yet to win an Emmy, despite being nominated in the past.
In 2004 and 2005, The Apprentice – which listed him as an executive producer – was up for the Outstanding Reality-Competition Program prize, but missed out both times.
Back in 2012, Trump wrote on X: “The Emmys are all politics, that’s why, despite nominations, The Apprentice never won–even though it should have many times over.”
And during a 2015 episode of The Apprentice, the businessman claimed he was “screwed out of an Emmy”.
“Everybody thought I was going to win it,” he said at the time. “In fact, when they announced the winner, I stood up before the winner was announced.
“And I started walking for the Emmy. And then they announced the most boring show on television, The Amazing Race. Piece of crap.”
